This beautiful skillet was manufactured by the Wagner Manufacturing Company in the 1940s for Montgomery Wards. It is marked only “WARDWAY” on the bottom, along with the product number, which is 1432. The pan measures 10-3/8″ in diameter (measured from the outside walls), and it is 2-1/4″ tall. It is 15-1/4″ long to the end of the handle. It has an outer heat ring.
The cooking surface of this pan has some light pinpricks and signs of use, which I expect to even out with additional use and seasoning. Please take a look at the photos.
There is a mild outward bow to the middle of the bottom of the pan, and I can make the pan move .25 mm when pressing along the upper rim (0.00984252 of an inch). The pan is best suited to use on a cooktop with raised burners given the bow on the bottom.
The skillet has been cleaned to bare iron and heat-seasoned with one coat of Crisco vegetable shortening. It is ready for use and display.
