Hello Handsome! This is a gorgeous looking chicken pan. Although we’re not sure who the maker is, it doesn’t matter to us! It’s a rich black, with a flawless hammered finish. This is one pan you want to keep out on display!
This chicken pan is 14-13/16″ long, including the handle, and 11-1/8″ wide at the pouring spouts. It is 3-1/8″ high, excluding the lid.
The lid is reminiscent of Griswold, with the broken rings, and has the letter “B” in it. The pan has “89 A” on the underside.
The cooking surface is excellent, without significant signs of use. Grind marks are visible on the interior walls.
There is a casting mark on the underside of the pan, likely caused by sands shifting during the casting process. There is another on the underside of the lid, maybe an inch or so long. There are also some pinpricks and small uneven patches on the underside of the lid rim. Please examine the photos closely.
This pan has movement, about 1.4 mm. It also spins, and is only suitable for raised cooking surfaces (such as gas ranges). Of course, it is perfect for the oven too! Founder Mary wrote a blog about pan movement, which you can find here.
This pan has been thoroughly cleaned and heat seasoned with one coat of Crisco. It is ready for immediate use or display!
