There is a book on Griswold muffin and cake pans. In the book, they list the 4 known variations (as of 1997, when the book was published) known of the number 2 Griswold gem pan. On occasion since publication of the muffin pan book, new variations have been discovered. This precise variation is not in the book, which leads me to conclude that it is at least scarce, if not rare.
The pan is marked only with the number 2. It has 11 round cups. It is 12-3/4″ long x 8-1/2″ wide. It has an open frame. The pan was manufactured from the 1880s to early 1900s. I believe this pan to be on the early end of that spectrum.
Please take a look at the photos for condition. The pan is clean and has been heat-seasoned with a mixture of Crisco vegetable shortening and Pam. It is ready for use and display.
