This is a beautiful and scarce Griswold Hearts and Star Gem Pan that was manufactured by the Griswold Manufacturing Company in Erie, PA. in the 1920s. This particular piece is in minty condition. It will make a beautiful display piece and add value to any collection. Of course it may also be used…it’s just such a beautiful piece that you will want to keep it out where it can be admired. I have had it on display in my kitchen.
The piece measures about 7-3/4″ x 8-3/8″ x 3/4″ tall. It is beautiful black cast iron and sits flat. It is marked as shown in the photos: NO 100 HEARTS STAR ERIE PA., U.S.A. GRISWOLD PAT’D MAY 18, 1920 and the product number, which is 960.
I cleaned this piece to bare iron and heat-seasoned it with a mixture of Pam and Crisco vegetable shortening. It is ready for use and display!
