This is a piece to show off!
Made in the 1940’s in Erie, Pennsylvania by the Griswold Manufacturing Co, this beautiful set features the Griswold small logo on the underside of the skillet, with “NO. 8” and “ERIE PA.”, along with the pattern number 2008. The lid has the word “Griswold” on the underside, and the pattern 2098.
It is 15-1/2″ long, including the handle, and 10-15/16″ wide at the pouring spouts. It sits flat!
This pan is in gorgeous condition. The original grinding marks are prominent on the interior walls, and the cooking surface has a beautiful glossy, black patina. Scratches and other signs of use are absent. There is a small indentation, a little smaller than a pin-head on the hinge tab.
The underside has some pinpricks, likely from air bubbles during the casting process, and a superficial casting mark to the right of the logo. The lid is exquisite. Please see the pictures.
This beautiful set has been thoroughly cleaned and heat seasoned with one coat of Crisco. It is ready for immediate use or display!
