This is variation 2 of 3 known variations of the Griswold gem pan number 1. It was manufactured by the Griswold Mfg. Co. in Erie, PA from the 1880’s – 1920’s, though the Griswold logo is not on the pan. I believe this variation to be on the early side of that range.
The pan has 11 cups. It measures 11-1/2″ x 7-3/4″ and it is 3/4″ tall. It is marked on the bottom with No 1 and the product number, which is 940. There are some casting burps and bumps in the cups; please take a look at the photos.
This pan is clean and has been heat-seasoned with a mixture of Crisco vegetable shortening and Pam. It is ready for use and display!
