This is variation 2 of 3 known variations of the Griswold gem pan number 1. It was manufactured by the Griswold Mfg. Co. in Erie, PA from the 1880’s – 1920’s, though the Griswold logo is not on the pan. I believe this variation to be on the early side of that time range.
The pan has 11 cups. It measures 11-1/2″ x 8″ and it is 3/4″ tall. It is marked on the bottom with No 1 and the product number, which is 940. The casting on this pan is particularly nice for such an old pan. There is some mild roughness in some of the cups, but nothing of particular note. Please examine the photos.
This pan is clean and has been heat-seasoned with a mixture of Crisco vegetable shortening and Pam. It is ready for use and display!
