This is the only one of these pans I have ever seen. If you watch my site, you know that I do not throw the word “rare” around willy-nilly; this is a rare piece. If you ever do find one, I doubt it would be in as minty condition as is this one.
Wagner Ware “Warm Over” pan. Manufactured by the Wagner Manufacturing Company in Sidney Ohio between the 1930s an 1940s. Presumably this pan was used to heat leftovers – pre-microwave! It would work well as a serving skillet, too, for three separate dishes, or as a breakfast pan. The pan is 9-3/4″ square in diameter and 1-1/2″ tall. It is marked as shown in the photos, with the Wagner stylized logo, WARM OER PAN, and the product number which is 1219.
The pan is clean and has been heat-seasoned with a mixture of Pam and Crisco vegetable shortening. It is ready for use and display! This pan would make an awesome gift for you, a collector, or someone very special.
p.s. I was asked if the pan sits perfectly flat with no wobble. I can make the pan move ever-so-slightly (a thrice-folds piece of paper stops any movement). I can’t imagine how that would matter in use of this pan, but that is the answer. The pan does not wobble, does not rock, and does not spin. This pan will be great on any cooktop. As always, pre-heat your pan! See my blog post on pan movement.
