This No. 9 griddle was made by the Griswold Manufacturing Co in Erie, Pennsylvania between 1925 – 1940.
It features the Griswold block logo, with “CAST IRON GRIDDLE 9 THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO.” above it, and “ERIE, PA., U.S.A.” below, along with the pattern number, 609 A. The writing is crisp and clear.
It is 15″ long and the cooking surface is 10-1/4″ in diameter. It sits flat as a pancake!
It’s in beautiful condition, there are almost no signs of use on the cooking surface – the original grinding marks are prominent. You can see some tool marks on the some sections of the exterior wall, but I am getting very picky to point this out.
I have taken lots of pictures, so please click on the magnifying glass to see them in detail.
This gorgeous piece has been thoroughly cleaned, and heat seasoned with Crisco. It is ready for immediate use or display!
