This pan was made by the Griswold Manufacturing Co in Erie, Pennsylvania in the 1920’s.
It features the Griswold large block logo, with “CAST IRON SKILLET 3” above it, and “ERIE P.A., U. S. A.” below, along with the pattern number 709 B. The writing is crisp and clear.
The cooking surface is approx 5-1/4″ in diameter, and the pan is 10-1/2″ long, including the handle. It is suitable for all cooking surfaces.
The original milling marks are prominent on the interior walls. The cooking surface has a few light signs of use – some light scratches and such. These are superficial only and will even out with additional use and sesaoning. The exterior is absolutely beautiful!
I have thoroughly cleaned this pan, and heat seasoned it with one coat of our special mixture of coconut & canola oils, and beeswax.
It is ready for immediate use or display.
