This pan was made by the Wagner Manufacturing Co in Sidney, OH in the 1930’s. It has the WagnerWare stylized logo on the underside with the Wagner product number “1218 F”. The writing is crisp and clear.
The skillet is 14.5″ long including the handle, and 9.75″ wide. It is 1 9/16″ high. It sits almost flat. There is a small wobble on the corner to the right of the handle. I can slip a folded piece of paper under this corner on the unfolded side, but not on the folded side. In my opinion, this is not a cause for concern and this pan would be great on any cooktop.
The cooking surface has a beautiful black, glossy patina. There are a couple of pinpricks, both on the cooking surface and underneath, likely caused by air bubbles during the casting process. There are some uneven patches that appear to caused by the sand shifting in the mold during the casting process. Please examine the photos closely
This pan has been cleaned to bare iron and seasoned with one coat of Crisco. It is ready for immediate use or display!
