This is a solid Wagner No. 5 cast iron skillet, with the stylized logo and product number 1055. It was made by the Wagner Manufacturing Co in Sidney, OH between 1935 and 1959.
It has the Wagner stylized logo on the underside, with the pattern number 1055 underneath. ON the handle is “x” and “-“. The letters are crisp and clear.
This pan is 12 3/4″ long, including the handle, and 8 5/8″ wide at the pouring spouts. It is 1 7/8” high.
This is a nice deep pan with visible grind marks on the walls. The cooking surface has a lovely black patina, and shows light signs of use. There is a casting flaw on the exterior wall near the pouring spout, and some pinpricks on the underside. These will not impact the pan’s cooking ability, but has reduced the price to make this a great deal.
The No. 5 skillet is great for cooking a single steak or chicken breast, or for your scrambled eggs in the morning.
This pan has been cleaned to bare iron, and seasoned with one coat of our special mixture of coconut and canola oils, and beeswax. It is ready for immediate use or display!
