This is an absolutely beautiful piece. I do not know the maker. While Griswold had a French roll pan that was also numbered 11, long-time Griswold collectors have told me that they do not believe this piece is Griswold given the shape of the handles. The casting on this piece, however, is in my opinion equal to the old Griswold pieces. The only markings on the piece are on the underside of the handles. One says FRENCH ROLL in raised lettering; the other says No. 11.
The pan measures 12-15/16″ long and it it is 7-3/4″ wide. It is 15/16″ tall. It has an open frame. There are but a few casting burps – please take a look at the photos. The pan sits flat.
I cleaned this piece to bare iron and heat-seasoned it with a mixture of Crisco vegetable shortening and Pam. It is ready for use and proud display. This pan would make a wonderful gift for the person who appreciates fine old pieces – it is simply gorgeous.
